The Nottingham Academy Library

Here at Nottingham Academy we have a library on each of our sites.

Greenwood Road

At the main site we have a large library for pupils. Here you will find fiction organised by genre and a wide range of non-fiction subjects too. There are also computers available for completing homework.
Open at break times, lunch times and after-school Tuesday and Wednesday

The Bridge

For Year 7 and Sixth Form we have a library full of fiction arranged my age and non-fiction for research and A Level course work.
Open at lunchtime on a Monday and Friday for pupils.

We aim to stock a wide range of books across all subjects, genre, culture, gender and time to ensure that all our school community is reflected in the library. To ensure that pupils are reading age-appropriate content in our fiction selection, books for older readers are clearly marked for Year 9 and above with a red 14 sticker.

Books are loaned for two weeks and are then due back at the library to be returned or renewed.

Pupils are given the opportunity to use the library for lessons linked to the English department, all pupils are encouraged to check out a book ready to read for Drop Everything And Read during tutor time and the library supports reading for pleasure by engaging with pupils about books they’d like to read and making recommendations.
