Pupils at Nottingham Academy rejoice at GCSE success

Pupils and staff at Nottingham Academy are celebrating their GCSE results.
The Academy is pleased to announce a year of record-breaking results for pupils. The whole Academy community is incredibly proud of its pupils, many of whom are now looking forward to progressing onto their A Levels at the Academy.
While all pupils have done well, there have been some impressive individual performances. These include:
- Kyle Xie who successfully achieved a grade 9 in biology, physics, chemistry, maths, statistics, and English literature, Level 2 Distinction* in sport science (OCR awarded as the highest mark in the country for this exam), and 8 in English language and further maths.
- Mohamed Adem who successfully achieved a grade 9 in biology, physics, chemistry, maths, further maths, statistics and Arabic, Level 2 Distinction* in engineering and a grade 8 in English literature and psychology and grade 7 in English language.
- Keven Xie who successfully achieved a grade 9 in biology, physics, chemistry, maths, further maths, Level 2 Distinction* in sport science, and a grade 8 in English language and statistics, Level 2 Distinction in enterprise and marketing, and 7 in English literature.
- Hibba Saghir who successfully achieved grade 9s in biology and chemistry, a Level 2 Distinction* in sport science, grade 8s in statistics, English language, maths, physics and Spanish and grade 7s in English literature.
- Muhammed Vehbi Colak who successfully achieved grade 9s in biology, physics, chemistry, maths, further maths, Turkish, a Level 2 Distinction in sport science, a grade 8 in statistics, a grade 7 in religious studies and grade 6s in English language and literature.
- Adnan Shahid who successfully achieved grade 9s in mathematics and religious studies, Level 2 Distinction* in sport science, 8-8 in combined science, a grade 8 in Urdu, grade 7s in statistics, English language and literature.
- Niall Platts who successfully achieved a grade 9 in mathematics, Level 2 Distinction* in sport science, a grade 8 in biology, physics, chemistry, English language and further maths, Level 2 Distinction in information technology, and grade 7s in statistics and English literature
- Jake Quail who successfully achieved grade 9s in mathematics, further maths and biology, grade 8s in statistics, chemistry, physics and Spanish, a Level 2 Merit in enterprise and marketing, a grade 7 in English language and a grade 6 in English literature.
- Ardin Sarwary who successfully achieved a grade 9 in biology, Level 2 Distinction* in sport science, grade 8s in maths, psychology, chemistry, 7 in English literature and physics and 6 in English language and statistics.
- We also celebrate the following students who all achieved grade 9s or Level 2 Distinction*s in subjects: Adwobi-Brefo Claudia, Afzal Malik Riaz Hasnat, Ahmad Atka, Ali-Yousafzai Amani, Alsholi Betoul, Alsholi Mohammad Hadi, Basheer Faheem, Bediako Baah Blessing, Czyrka Oskar, Eddyson Oni Bevis, Fatima Haya, Fernandes Lelis Ayden, Finch Misha, Gawlowska Dominika, Gumus Ipek, Habib Maryam, Hassan Raha, Hayden Eve, Hewing Edith, Ibrahim Assia Ali, Iqbal Kousar Qazafia Zafar, Joof Lamin, Karimi Ehsan, Mohammed Samia, Nadeem Alisha, Omoigui Igbinosa Divine, Oshodin Johnson Angel, Parveen Usman, Rehman Aneeqa, Sahin Sudenaz, Touray Paousman, Wightman Jack, Zahid Eman, Zardi Blessing, Zhou Xuanle.
As noted above, we were delighted to be contacted by the examining board OCR, who congratulated Kyle Xie on his exceptional performance, writing that they were ‘very pleased to inform you that [Kyle Xie] was one of the top performers in OCR’s Cambridge National in Sport Science this summer… OCR is one of the leading UK awarding bodies, which means Kyle is one of the top performing students in the country. Many congratulations to Kyle and to your school/college for this impressive achievement.’
