The Modern Foreign Languages Department took a group of Year 10 pupils to visit the city of Barcelona in Spain for 4 days from 19-22 June 2018.
The group of Year 10 students who are all studying GCSE Spanish took part in the trip to give them the invaluable experience of learning more about Spanish culture and putting their language skills into practice.
The trip was supported by Spanish teachers Ms Sanjujo and and Mr Bolatti and Geography teacher Mr Sturtivant. The teachers all commented that everyone had had a great time and the pupils were all fantastic ambassadors for the Academy demonstrating maturity, respect and kindness throughout the trip.
The pupils visited the Basilica of the Sagrada Familia which is a monumental church, recognised on the UNESCO world heritage list. The group also visited a gallery and the famous markets of Barcelona and of course an essential trip to the beach as temperatures tipped 30 degrees.
Pupils had many opportunities to test out their Spanish speaking and listening and to learn more about Spanish culture.
