Parent Message Regarding September Reopening

A message from Greenwood Academies CEO Wayne Norrie following the Government announcement that all schools will reopen for all pupils from September 2020.

Dear Families,

You will have heard the Government announced yesterday that all schools will be open for all pupils from September 2020. We are delighted that we can now look forward to seeing all our pupils back to school next term. We have really missed them and can’t wait to have them back with us. Our team will be very busy in the next couple of weeks planning, completing new and detailed risk assessments, and working out exactly what your child’s academy will look like and feel like next year. Please be assured that we are taking measures to make our academies as safe as they can be as the safety of all of our pupils and staff continues to be our number one priority.

We understand that some of our pupils and families will be anxious about returning in September, after some months out of their academy. We are here to work with you to ensure that our pupils return to school feeling happy, safe, secure, and, hopefully, excited! I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for everything you have done to help us to support your child over the past few months. As a Dad of three young children myself I know how difficult homeschooling can be, thank you for working with us.

Your child’s Principal will be in touch with you in due course and begin to inform you of arrangements from September. All I would ask is that you are patient with us. We see the guidance from the Government at the same time as you, there is no advance warning of their expectations. You will understand our teams need to work through the guidance very carefully and this will take a number of days.
