Urdu - Key Stage 4
At the Academy, pupils follow the AQA GCSE Urdu course. Units are based around reading, listening, writing and speaking skills.
Pupils study the topics of: Relationships and Choices; Free Time and the Media; Holidays; Health; Home and Local Area; The Environment; School & Future Plans; and Employment.
The course is assessed through four controlled assessments (two speaking and two writing) and external examinations in reading and writing.
Pupils studying other community languages follow courses from OCR, Edexcel and AQA. These focus on similar topics and are assessed in similar ways to the GCSE Urdu course.
