Nottingham Secondary Academy

Our Academy

Welcome from the Lead Principal

‘Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much’, Helen Keller

I am privileged to be the Principal of the Nottingham Academy.  It is my challenge to inspire our unique Academy community to be ambitious in our aims, innovative in our approach and resilient in our pursuit of excellence.

At the Nottingham Academy we instil a positive learning culture which has exceedingly high expectations of our pupils. We strive to provide an innovative and enriching learning experience which is academically rigorous and develops character.

Our whole Academy community is single-minded in its belief that every pupil can achieve irrespective of their starting point.

We are traditional in our approach to standards in order to maintain a positive and respectful climate for learning.  We rigorously and consistently enforce our code of conduct, expect pupils to attend regularly and contribute to the life of our Academy. The strong relationships which exist between our staff and young people ensures that our Academy is a calm, orderly and purposeful environment where pupils can enjoy their learning, make accelerated progress and feel safe.

Our Academy staff demonstrate exemplary professional and personal standards.  They lead by example and act as positive role models for our pupils. Furthermore, our curriculum and pastoral teams are determined to overcoming barriers to success by meeting the bespoke needs of individual pupils.

The leadership team are highly visible around the Academy. We spend a great deal of time ‘out and about’ around the sites, visiting lessons and supporting staff and pupils to maintain our standards and ensure the quality of learning is consistently high.

The key to our future success is based on effective partnership between pupils, staff and parents. I will always endeavour to build positive, trusting and long lasting relationships to support our pupils to be truly inspirational.

I hope you find our website useful and informative.

Best wishes
