GCSE success for Nottingham Academy pupils

Pupils at Nottingham Academy Greenwood Campus and Ransom Road Campus are celebrating after receiving their results for their GCSE or equivalent courses of study.

Initial results show that the Academy has made good progress compared to last year.  46 per cent of pupils have secured a good pass in English and mathematics - a 3 percentage point increase on last year. In addition, the Attainment 8 measure has also improved.

We will provide further information on Progress 8 once data becomes available from the Department of Education. Nottingham Academy anticipates a significant improvement compared to last year. These improvements reflect enhanced provision and further developments in the targeted support and refined interventions offered across the Academy. 

Whilst all the pupils have done well, there are some that have particular cause to celebrate:

  • Congratulations go to Iqan Fahiem who achieved five level 9 grades, an A, a Distinction and a Distinction*. Iqan plans to go onto study Science and Maths at Sixth Form.
  • Laila Shiekh achieved three level 8 grades, three level 7s, two 5s and a 6, passing all her chosen subjects at the equivalent to a C or above. Laila will go on to study at Nottingham College.
  • Bradley Argyle achieved a 9 in Maths as well as 2 two 8s, two 7s, a 6, two 5s and an A in ICT. Bradley will continue his studies in Maths and Science at NUAST.
  • Ransom Road Head Boy Hamza Latif achieved an A* an A, a Distinction, three 8s three 7s and two 6s, Hamza plans to study medicine and will also attend NUAST Sixth Form.
