Dear Year 11 Parent/ Guardian,

As you will be aware our GCSE examinations have now begun and I am pleased to say that I am hugely impressed with the positive, focused and mature attitude shown by our year 11 students as we start the exam series.

With many examinations yet to take place, it is vital that students continue to work hard, revise effectively and are motivated to achieve their potential right up until their last exam which for most students takes place on Friday 15th June. However, there are still Polish and Punjabi exams which happen after this date.

Study leave will start on Tuesday 12th June after the maths exam in the morning and students will be permitted to leave site at 11am. From this day, students will only be required to attend the Academy to sit their remaining exams and can continue with their revision at home. There is an expectation that they attend school for lessons where they still have an exam. Until study leave begins, it is compulsory for your child is in school every day and our normal procedures for tackling poor attendance will apply.

I would like to thank you for your continued support during the examinations and I feel confident that if your child works hard over half term and remaining weeks at school they will achieve some fantastic results this summer.

Yours sincerely,

Miss K.Beldham
