Last week, our Year 7 students were treated to a special visit from award-winning author Tamsin Winter, who delivered two inspiring assemblies that left a lasting impression.

Tamsin shared her journey as a writer, beginning with her childhood love of storytelling and the many challenges she faced on the road to becoming a published author. She spoke candidly about the perseverance required to succeed, including how many drafts a single book might go through before it's ready for readers.

Students were captivated as Tamsin introduced them to the characters and plots of her popular books—without giving away any spoilers! Her engaging storytelling and honest insights sparked curiosity and enthusiasm among the audience.

Year 7 pupils were excellent listeners throughout and impressed Tamsin with their thoughtful and enthusiastic questions during the Q&A session.

All of Tamsin Winter’s books are available to borrow from the school library—though you might need to reserve a copy, as they’re currently all on loan!
