Pupils and staff at the Nottingham Academy are celebrating success after the Department for Education released the 2013 National Performance Tables.
The results show that the Academy, sponsored by the Greenwood Dale Foundation Trust (GDFT) and along with the Nottingham Girls' Academy, took one of the two top spots in Nottingham for the amount of progress pupils make.
The Nottingham Academy has a strong local and national reputation for its commitment to ensuring that all pupils achieve individual success. The Nottingham Academy achieved record GCSE results in a year when many schools have seen results drop dramatically due to more exacting English GCSE marking.
Barry Day, Chief Executive of the GDFT, said: “The improved and sustained level of pupil progress at the Nottingham Academy comes from the relentless dedication staff show to support pupils not just to achieve their potential but to go beyond it.
“The staff and pupils at the Academy are formidable teams that work exceptionally well together. The loyalty and respect that staff and pupils have for each other make it a very productive and exciting place to learn.”
