KS2
Information Communication Technology is delivered to all pupils in the school by an experienced and enthusiastic team of staff.
We believe that all students should be confident and competent users of ICT. Nottingham Academy has invested substantially in Technology and our facilities include:
- 11 Dedicated ICT Suites (30 PCs in each)
- Interactive Whiteboards in every classroom
- Digital Video Cameras
- Digital Still Cameras
- Impero Class Management Software
- Microsoft Office Suite (Access included)
- Photoshop CS Suite
- QuarkExpre
Students all have a network logon, with access to their own email account, remote access to the school network and a filtered Internet connection.
In Key Stage 3 (Year 7, Year 8, Year 9) students follow a curriculum that is based around the National Strategy. Units are based around key skill areas that include some of the following:
- Word Processing
- Spreadsheets
- Databases
- Desktop Publishing
- Presentations
- Web Authoring
- Control
Year 10 and Year 11 students follow the BTEC First for ICT Practitioners which is equivalent to 4 GCSE. 6th Form Students complete the Advanced GCE in Applied ICT, this is traditionally completed over 2 years.
